Hi, Airdrie. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as a proud councillor for the City of Airdrie for more than 10 years now. I can hardly believe the changes we have experienced in that time, growing from a city of 50,000 to over 80,000.

One of the fastest growing municipalities in Alberta, Airdrie faces a range of issues that I am dedicated to addressing. Some of our significant focuses are:

Rapid Growth: Airdrie is experiencing rapid population growth, which brings challenges related to urban planning, infrastructure development, housing availability, traffic management, and maintaining a sense of community amidst expansion.

Housing Affordability: With the population growth, maintaining affordable housing options for residents, especially for first-time homebuyers and low-income individuals, remains a critical issue.

Infrastructure Development: Managing and upgrading infrastructure to accommodate the increasing population, including roadways, public transportation, utilities, and community facilities.

Economic Development: Fostering economic growth, attracting businesses, creating job opportunities, and supporting local entrepreneurs are essential to maintaining a thriving local economy.

Environmental Sustainability: Balancing growth with environmental sustainability is crucial. Managing waste, preserving green spaces, and planning for sustainable urban development are ongoing concerns.

Community Services: Providing adequate and diverse community services, including recreational facilities, libraries, healthcare, and social services, to cater to the diverse needs of Airdrie's residents.

Seniors and Accessibility: Addressing the needs of the aging population, including access to healthcare, senior services, and barrier-free housing, is a priority.

Recreation and Culture: Supporting recreational and cultural activities to enhance the quality of life for residents and foster a strong sense of community.
